The force is strong in this one....

I got to go to Disneyland with my family and my Grandma and some of my Aunts and Uncles and cousins. It was awesome. Pretty much my favorite thing at Disneyland was the Jedi Training Academy. I got to dress up like a Jedi and train with a Jedi Master.

Then Darth Vader and Darth Maul came out, I have to admit it was a little scary. Darth Vader is big in real life.

I got to go battle Darth Vader with a light saber, I hit left and right and I even had to duck.

After I beat Darth Vader I went to walk of like the other kids but Darth Vader said the to 2 storm troopers that the force is strong in this one and they started to come after me so I had to use my hand to force them both back. One of them almost fell backwards.

And after I forced them I was able to walk off of the stage. I really don't want to meet Darth Vader again.

Zack typed this days ago, but I have not had a chance to add the pictures until tonight. It is not fun to be the secretary for a six year old, but I think he will be happy when he wakes up and sees that I have finally done it for him. Zack asked me later that day how Darth Vader knew the force was strong in him. I told him what I always tell him, that he is a strong boy, the strongest I know. I told him that he has courage, and shows me his courage every day and that others see it too. With the upcoming adoption of our foster daughter Zack has had alot of questions about his adoption. I am so glad that we have always been able to talk openly about the miracles that brought Zack to our family. It is an honor and a priviledge to be his Mom. He has taught me so much, and I have become a better, stronger person with his help. The other day someone mentioned something along the lines that they were glad I would get to have a healthy child. I didn't know that Zack had heard it or if he did if he would put 2 and 2 together, well he did. I too am glad that I get to have a healthy child, but in my opinion I now have 2 strong, healthy children. My children are fighters, they have both over come so much and both still have uphill battles to fight, but I in NO WAY see them as anything less than incredible people. Zack knows that he is loved and accepted for all that he is, I am a little sad that some look at him and discount what he is, I don't feel like I have less of a child because Zack has eb, or that I am less of a parent. The truth is that he is strong, strong enough move past ugly comments, and ugly stares and ugly people, and strong enough to not give it a second thought.(now if I could only learn that)

Zacky, we are the lucky ones to be able to share your life with you. What you look like on the outside does not mean that you are not "Healthy". Zack you are a very special boy that told Heavenly Father that you would be strong and that you could handle having EB. Heavenly Father trusted you enough to give you EB, because your body is the greatest gift that Heavenly Father gives his children. He loves you and knows that you are strong. We love you bunches. Hey, Zack! I'm Amy, Jonah's aunt. I just had to say the Jedi training looks like the coolest thing! I have an almost 4 year old little guy that loves Star Wars.

Hi Zack! That Jedi training looks really cool! I didn't see that while we were in Disney. When did you go? was it for the Have a Heart for EB weekend?

My whole family got to go to, see, I have EB too, I'm a little older than you (34) and I have a 2 year old daughter. My brother and father both have EB too. So thanks to National Rehab we had a GREAT weekend at Disney, the WHOLE family!

I guess I'm a lot like you - I have never thought that I was "sick" or "unhealthy" - unless of course I had the flu. I love your attitude toward EB. The way I look at it is this, its just something extra that I have to deal with in my day. I can still do anything that I want to and so can you!

Keep on blogging! You have a new fan in me!

Zack, how did you get chosen out of everyone there to fight Vader? They must have known the force IS strong with you. It always has been and it always will be.

Now that you've defeated Vader you can come to Colorado and take on Uncle Colbert. I was thinking we could get Uncle Colbert a Vader costume and you could act it out for us live. What do you think? I can't wait to see more pictures of you and your family at Disneyland.

Love you Jedi Master Zack!!!

Hey Zack.

I'm just now getting around to your post, since I've been so busy at the hospital with Jonah.

But guess what? We may be getting to come home next week. I can't wait for you guys to meet one day. And we can all go to Disney World and you can show Jonah how to be a jedi master too - you know, once he can walk and talk and hold a light saber and all. :) It's kinda hard to summon the force when you're only 3 1/2 weeks old. :)

Hope you have a great week, buddy. Talk to you soon.

Hey Zack! Cool Jedi training!

I found your blog through baby Jonah. I have been praying for him since he was born. I have wondered what life would be like for Jonah when he is older. It was very neat to find your blog, and see you doing normal kid stuff, and having lots of fun. It's good to know Jonah has lots to look forward to.

I will be praying for you too, and reading your blog. Can't wait to hear about other adventures you have.

Zack,
I found your blog through Baby Jonah's blog. I also have been praying for Jonah since he was born - although I have never met him. YOU are an amazing young man and you give all of us hope for Jonah to have an AWESOME life. My family (my mom and brother, neices and nephews) live in Salt Lake City - and I use to live there. Now I live in Boise, Idaho. So we are neighbors!

I just wanted to write you a note on your blog and tell you that I think you are a pretty amazing young man and that I will be praying for you and your family. CONGRATULATIONS on getting a new baby sister. That is so great.

Hey Zack-

I was just catching up on your blog and wow what a busy guy you are!! That is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen,I didn't know they did jedi training. But they're totally right, you are one strong guy! Everyone who meets you seems to recognize that right away. And just because your skin is not strong doesn't mean that the rest of you isn't or that you're not healthy! You're very healthy, look at all the things you do, you're amazing! I never thought i was "sick" or "unhealthy" either. EB is only a teeny part of us.

Congratulations on getting a sister! I have a little sister too, she's pretty cool. You're a lucky guy!

Your friend in California,
Jenn

Hi Zack,
My name is Jill and I have a question for you...my god daughter has EB and she was just born in January.

I've heard swimming is a great sport...do you ever go swimming and if so, does the chlorine bother your skin?

The only reason I ask is that I'd like to buy my god daughter swimming lessons in the future.

I appreciate your help and hope you're doing great!

You can e-mail me at miesen.ja@gmail.com.
